FAMILY HISTORY

This map shows of parts of old Glasgow’s east end around the Gallowgate, and encompasses parts of Dennistoun, Calton and Camlachie. Quite a few members of the Craig extended family lived in this area from the 1860s to about 1920. In particular, the families of David and Catherine Hannah lived in the streets running south from the Gallowgate in Camlachie. Nearby, but further east, were the families of David Craig (s/o Thomas [4] Craig & Sarah Norwood), as well as Margaret and Agnes Craig (d’s/o Thomas [3] Craig & Margaret Campbell).

Thomas [4] Craig was separated from his wife Sarah Norwood and boarding at 25 East Market Street in Calton for the 1911 Census.
